Ultimate Spirit at Rocktober 2016

The last minute field changes did not only negatively affect the RocTOC.  The team from Orange Farm suddenly found themselves having to travel triple the distance… and totally over their taxi budget.  After exhausting their funds on Day 1, the team appealed to the SA Ultimate community for assistance.  Players emptied their pockets without hesitation and the R1250 needed for transportation for the second day of Rocktober was quickly met.  A huge thank you to everyone who donated !

I can’t even begin to express how grateful we are for the support from the ultimate community ! I’m getting emotional but I’m gonna hold ’em back (gangsters don’t cry) but seriously thank you guys so much for everything. May we continue growing the sport and work towards great things. Ngiyabonga.

Bongani (Orange Farm)

SAFDA would like to thank all of you who had the chance to help raise money to ensure  Orange Farm’s continued participation in Rocktober and at the very last minute.  They reached out to our community and the response was amazing.  It is great that the Ultimate community could pull together to ensure a developing team still managed to play Rocktober. This is one of the big reasons we all love this sport!  Thanks again to the ROC TOC for managing a fantastic tournament under extreme circumstance. I look forward to the next time we are all together!
